BOAST: Best of Astoria is the place to get information about the great things happening in Astoria, Queens. Named the best place to travel in the U.S. in 2015 by Lonely Planet, Queens offers “a truly global food culture” and Astoria is one of the most diverse, not to mention hippest, neighborhoods in the borough. On this site you can find out where to go for the best restaurants, bars, bakeries, and everything else that makes Astoria unique. Check out what’s going on in the area on the Happening page, which will be updated frequently, and you can also join the discussion about the Best of Astoria and stay up to date by liking our Facebook page and by following us on Twitter and Instagram.
The winners of BOAST were determined by surveying those who know the area best — Astoria residents. If you’d like to get in touch or participate in the next survey, head over to the Contact page, or sign up for the mailing list on the homepage.
If you’re coming to Astoria from Brooklyn or Manhattan, take the N or W train uptown towards Queens, and get off at any stop between 36th Ave and Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. The address numbers have two parts: The first part represents the nearest cross street to the north or west, and the second part represents the distance from that street.
